Help Our Shelves Stay Stocked!

Whether it’s a bag of groceries from your pantry, a food drive held at an office, or a truckload of eggs from a local company, donated food is a critical part of our ability to fight hunger in South Dakota.

Thanks to the generous support of our communities, food donations help us to provide nourishing meals for thousands of people each month. We gladly accept food from individuals, retail donors, farmers and growers, and food manufacturers that is nutritious and safe for consumption. With the increasing demand for food assistance and rising prices, we need your help more than ever.

Individual Donations

A little bit can make a big impact! When you donate food you help us provide millions of meals to our neighbors facing hunger. Donations can be dropped off at any of our three distribution centers during our hours of operation: Monday - Thursday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM - 12: PM. If you live outside of these areas, please deliver your food donation to your local food pantry.

Food Industry Donations

We partner with organizations big and small to reduce food waste by rescuing high-quality, nutritious food that cannot be sold but is otherwise good to eat. The rescued donations become available for a variety reasons such as overproduction, mislabeling or complications with delivery.

We are capable of accepting bulk quantities of dry, shelf-stable, refrigerated and frozen food items. We follow USDA and health department guidelines to ensure the safety of all incoming food items—from a few boxes to delivery from a tractor trailer.

If you are a commercial business or wholesaler interested in making a bulk donation email us for more details.

Sportsmen Against Hunger (Wild Game)

South Dakota Sportsmen Against Hunger partners with Feeding South Dakota to put wild game on the tables of those facing hunger.

To participate in this program, take your field-dressed animal to a South Dakota Sportsmen Against Hunger (SDSAH) participating commercial processor, and indicate you want to donate it. After the animal is processed and frozen by the processor, arrangements are made for delivering the processed meat from the processor to Feeding South Dakota.

Find Frequently Asked Questions, specifics about the donation process and more on the South Dakota Sportsmen Against Hunger site. For questions about this program contact South Dakota Sportsmen Against Hunger directly.

Food and Fund Drives

Groups can make a big difference by hosting a Food and Fund Drive. Whether you choose to collect food or funds, you're helping your community and raising awareness about hunger.
