SNAP Updates

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps low-income South Dakotans buy the food they need to stay healthy while they work to regain financial independence. SNAP is not meant to cover all your food costs, but it helps stretch your grocery budget.

FAQ

WIC Updates

South Dakota WIC helps families be strong, healthy, and happy by providing health promoting food benefits, support services, and referrals. South Dakota WIC supports those who:

  • care for a baby or child younger than 5 years of age
  • are pregnant now or had a baby in the past six months
  • are breastfeeding a baby under 1 year of age

It’s free for all South Dakota families who qualify. Mothers, fathers, legal guardians, and foster parents can all sign up for WIC.
