Get Food
If you, or someone you know, needs food right now we're here for you. We all need a hand sometimes, and this is a community that looks out for one another.
As the federal government shutdown continues, thousands of South Dakotans are navigating uncertain times — and we want to do all that we can so that food is not something they need to worry about.
Whether you're looking for help during this time of uncertainty, or want to support Feeding South Dakota's response, you'll find information here so that together we can keep our communities healthy.
If you, or someone you know, needs food right now we're here for you. We all need a hand sometimes, and this is a community that looks out for one another.
We're calling on our community for immediate support! You play a vital role in helping us provide stability during this time of uncertainty.
Feeding South Dakota is monitoring our programs and working with agency partners –food pantries, shelters, schools, and hot meal sites - to assess need across the state. We have set a goal to distribute 500,000 additional meals, equipping us to provide food to more people as the uptick in usage begins.
We plan to continue operating as we have been, distributing food through our mobile food distribution, child hunger, and senior hunger programs and offering food inventory to our partners across the state. The annual Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway will move forward as planned providing groceries for a traditional Thanksgiving meal to 6,000 families in 25 communities across the state in November.
