Thanksgiving Meals

Thanksgiving is about more than a meal. It's about the comfort of tradition, the joy of celebrating with loved ones, and the opportunity to pause and be grateful.

Through our annual Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway, families can receive ingredients to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal at home. This program is made possible by generous donors, volunteers, and community partners who believe everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy Thanksgiving with food on the table.

Whether you're facing a temporary setback, stretching a tight budget, or simply need a little extra help this season, we invite you to join us.

Rapid City | Saturday, November 21, 2026 
7:00am- 9:00am MT*

Central States Fairgrounds - 800 San Francisco St. 

Instructions: Enter the line by taking Campbell Street to San Francisco Street, then proceed to the entrance at the ticket box office gate by the grandstands.

Sioux Falls | Saturday, November 21, 2026 
8:00am-10:00am CT*

W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds - 100 N Lyon Blvd

Instructions: Enter the line from Madison Street. Volunteers will direct vehicles across the street to the north to receive the distribution at Knife River.

Important Information:

  • Eligibility:
    • An adult age 18 or older must be present (Proxy forms will not be accepted).
    • A maximum of two meals will be distributed per vehicle.
    • No registration, sign up, or ID is required.
  • The meals will be distributed on a first-come, first-served process.
  • The event is drive-through. To ensure everyone's safety, please remain in your vehicle and follow volunteer directions.
  • *The event will end early if all meals have been distributed.
  • Weather-related changes will be posted on our website, the Feeding South Dakota Facebook Page, and local news station alerts.
  • Guests are allowed to receive a regular Mobile Distribution food box for the month of November, as well as attend the Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway.
