KOTA News - A New Identity for South Dakota Food Banks
back to listStory by: Rachael Embler - May 13, 2010
Leaders of the Community Food Banks of South Dakota want there to be no doubt in anyone's mind about what they're here to do: feed South Dakota.
That's why they changed the food bank's name to "feeding South Dakota."
They are affiliated with "Feeding America," the largest hunger relief organization in the nation, and serve more than 500 agencies that help feed South Dakotans.
Food Bank leaders said they hope the new identity will help people recognize their mission.
"This will not change anything that we do, it was just going to put awareness out there that we are feeding South Dakota and that is our mission," said Black Hills Food Bank Director Monica Leitheiser.
They're opening a new food bank branch in Pierre Friday.
