Pantry Associate in Rapid City

Employment: Full Time

Job Summary

The pantry associate position is responsible for all collecting, transporting, loading and unloading inventory, food drives, and donations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collects, transports, loads and unloads food drives, donations and inventory.
  • Maintains a safe driving record in compliance with the organization’s insurance requirements.
  • Ensures the proper storage, rotation and maintenance of frozen, refrigerated and perishable foods   and all product storage holding areas.
  • Stocks and organizes pantry shelves and inventory.
  • Enters all data into reporting software and creates reports.
  • Maintains all files, cards, and other documents.
  • Provides direction to volunteers, as necessary.
  • Maintains and cleans pantry area.
  • Practices food safety standards.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Heavy Work: Heavy work involves lifting approximately 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds. If someone can do heavy work, it is also determined that they can also do sedentary, light, and medium work.

Qualifications

Two years of relevant experience in customer service, warehouse, data management and food service is required, along with skills in Microsoft Office. A clean and safe driving record is also required. Fork lift experience a plus.

Driver/Warehouse Associate in Sioux Falls

Employment: Full Time

Job Summary

The Driver/Warehouse Associate position will provide CDL semi-truck driving duties across the state of South Dakota, along with straight-truck driving duties within and around Sioux Falls. In addition to driving responsibilities, this position may also include general warehouse duties such as forklift operations, inventory control, computer use, and communication with agency and food donor representatives. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Collects, transports, loads and unloads inventory.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and operational checks on vehicles and equipment and maintains all required daily logs.
  • Maintains a safe driving record.
  • Assists the Warehouse Coordinator in warehouse organization, inventory control, quality assurance and food/non-food rotation standards.
  • Accepts and receipts product donations.
  • Guides agencies through the process of receiving products from the food bank.
  • Maintains and assists with the cleaning schedule of the warehouse.
  • Assist, as directed, with major food drives or volunteer activities.

Requirements

  • CDL required.
  • Ability to lift approximately 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying objects weighing 50 pounds.
  • Two years of relevant experience in OTR and straight-truck driving is required. Inventory/warehouse experience preferred, along with demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service.
  • Clean and safe driving record required.
  • Must provide a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) if an interview is requested. The MVR can be obtained at the Department of Public Safety.
